Thaytool Mobile privacy policy
Thaytool Mobile ("the app") is a companion to Thaytool for Mac. This policy explains what the app does with information. The short version: we don't collect anything.
What the app collects
Nothing. The app has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no tracking. We (the developer) never receive any information from the app.
What stays on your phone
- The list of Macs you paired (their names, network addresses and the public key that identifies each one).
- A device key for each paired Mac, stored in the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore. It never leaves the device and is not included in backups.
- Your preferences (for example, haptics and notification settings).
Deleting the app removes all of it.
What the app sends, and to whom
The app talks only to the Thaytool for Mac you paired it with, directly over your local network or your own Tailscale network. That connection is end-to-end encrypted. Through it, the app shows information that already lives on your Mac — workspace and project names, agent status and messages, terminal content — and sends what you ask it to: prompts, keystrokes, new workspaces and Board cards. None of it passes through a server we operate, because there isn't one.
Links you choose to open (such as this policy) open in your browser and are subject to that website's policy.
Camera, photos and notifications
The camera is used to scan the pairing QR code — a scan is never stored or sent anywhere — and, when you choose, to take a photo you attach to a prompt. A photo you attach (taken, or picked in the system photo picker, which shows the app only what you pick) is sent only to your Mac, over the end-to-end encrypted connection, and saved there for your agent to read. Notifications are optional and generated on the device.
Children
The app is a developer tool and is not directed at children.
Changes and contact
We'll update this page if the app's handling of information ever changes. Questions: rafa.thayto@gmail.com.
